My version of Alan Jackson's "Midnight In Montgomery" I call it
MIDNIGHT IN MOORESVILLE
Midnight in Mooresville, silver eagle, lonely road. I was on my way to Daytona for a real big race car show. I stopped for just a minute to see a friend outside of town. Put my collar up, found his name, and felt the wind die down.
Then a dark man in a baseball cap took me by supprise. Wearing racing boots, a racing suit and haunting haunted eyes. He said "friend it's good to see you, it's nice to know you care." Then the wind picked up, and he was gone. Was he ever really there.
'Cause it's midnight in Mooresville. Just hear that whippoorwill. See the stars light up the purple sky. Feel that lonesome chill. When the wind is right, you'll hear his car. Smell rubber in the air. Midnight in Mooresville. He's always racing there.
I climbed back on my eagle, took one last look around. Through red tail lights a shadow moved slow across the ground. Off somewhere a midnight train is slowly passing by. I could hear that whistle moaning. I'm so lonesome I could cry.
'Cause it's midnight in Mooresville. Just hear that whippoorwhill. See the stars light up the purple sky. Feel that lonesome chill. When the wind is right, you'll hear his car. Smell rubber in the air. Midnight in Mooresville. He's always racing there.. He's always racing there.. Dale's always racing there.....
Okay that sounds great! I really appreciate that! And again, I think I kinda went off on you in the race thread and it was not right for me to do. If I did I will say I am sorry here. But as I recall, and I have a bad habit of not looking to who I am responding to, but what they say. I am really bad about that..LOL have a great night and thank you again. BD
