When I heard the announcement today about Chip Ganassi canning the 40 car, because of sponsorship issues I about choked.

I'm either misunderstanding something, or I know less about the game than I thought. How can he NOT find a sponsor for Dario Franchitti. I like the guy, admittedly, but he's sort of become a media darling. The shy unassuming Scot, with the Oscar winner wife on the pit box. And, unlike some of the 'open-wheelers' that have come to NASCAR he says he is going to "stay here", and that this is where he wants to be. So, there isn't that question of the guy bolting after things get hard.

I just don't get it. Even though he is going to keep him in the NNS car (maybe), the no sponsorship reasoning just doesn't make sense to me.

Can somebody help me understand this? I would appreciate it.

Just wondering if ya'all know of a site that lists contract lengths of the drivers and sponsors. I know jayski has some of them on there but not on every driver. the reason is I'm wonderin the 4th consideration for the 33 car. I have Bobby Labonte (he said dont believe it till you hear it from his mouth he has not said he has resigned with Petty yet) Martin Truex Jr. (has not agreed to the option year in '09 yet) Ryan Newman, and the 4th??? David Ragans contract is up and so is AAA Rousch needs to be down to 4 teams in 2010, or is it wimmer who they can't get sponsorship for... I know Biff's is up but know he really wants to resign with Roush but with Ragan doing so good, is Biff the odd man out??? or the others are who I'm wonderin about Vickers contract I don't know and others...

Let me start this post by saying this is a rumor only. No public statement has been made to this effect. I'm posting this so you guys know whats being said, if'in its true or not who knows. I'm not saying this and I'm not saying its true either, its a rumor round NC (started on the internet of course).


Tony to move to RCR in 09. Tony to run a GM sponsored car at RCR and Havick to start his own team in 09.


If its true or not theres enough BS going round about it that someone needs to say something one way or the other.
