Hello my friend the Talladega Track has to be one of my favorite,Bristol being another one. Talladega Superspeedway is located in Talladega, Alabama, United States. It was constructed in the 1960s in place of abandoned airport runways by International Speedway Corporation, a business controlled by NASCAR's founding France family along with Daytona International Speedway and several other racetracks. At 2.66 miles long, Talladega is the largest oval track in the Sprint Cup Series and has seating provisions for over 175,000 patrons. In the 2000 season, Earnhardt had a resurgence,He scored what many considered the 2 most exciting wins of the year - winning by .006 seconds over Bobby Labonte at Atlanta, then gaining seventeen positions in the final four laps to win at Talladega, claiming his only No Bull million dollar bonus. The Craftsman Truck Series race is 250 miles (94 laps) and the ARCA race, was shortened to 300 miles in 1998, and to 250 miles in 2006 when it was moved to Friday. Have a great weekend eddie
In 1996, International Speedway Corporation began exploring the idea of building a track in the Midwest. Bonds were sold in 1998 and construction on the 1.5-mile tri-oval began a year later. Tickets for the 2001 season went on sale on Aug. 17, 2000, and within a week, nearly 80 percent of the season tickets had been sold. Paving on the track begin in September of that year and construction was completed in the spring of 2001. Jeff Gordon won the first two Cup events there, starting with the inaugural race on Sept.30, 2001. ______________________________________________________ Soldiers from the U.S. Army Special Operations Command will thrill race fans with a daring pre-race demonstration prior to the start of the Camping World RV 400 presented by Coleman at Kansas Speedway on September 28, 2008. NASCAR fans will get a first hand and up-close look at a Special Operations infiltration demonstration, including a high-altitude, low-opening (HALO) parachute jump by the U.S. Army Special Operations Command’s Black Daggers. Also, the official Ford Fusion pace car is going on a special “ride” as part of the pre-race demonstration. It will be airlifted and then offloaded onto the track by an MH-47 Chinook helicopter from the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). Following the pace car “delivery”, eight Special Forces Soldiers will fly into action on two MH-6 Little Bird helicopters for a simulated tactical infiltration.
Here are some fun Race Track Facts
#1 Throughout a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series weekend at Kansas Speedway, Americrown, who handles all concessions, catering and merchandise for the track, sells more than 31,600 gallons of soda. How far could a NASCAR stock car go on 31,600 gallons of fuel? It could circle the earth 16 times before it had to make a pit stop. That's 129,272 laps around the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway. ________________________________________________________ #2 Race fans eat 14,504 hot dogs on a typical race weekend at the track. That's enough wieners to cover 437 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup stock cars from nose to tail. ________________________________________________________ #3 About 25,000 hamburgers, which equals about 6,615 pounds, are eaten over the course of the weekend. That much meat adds up to 49 Mark Martins, the lightest driver on the NEXTEL Cup circuit at 135 pounds. _________________________________________________________ #4 Around 26,203 gallons of beer is sold. That's enough to fill a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup stock car gas tank 1,191 times. _________________________________________________________ #5 Nearly 250 yards of bratwurst are sold. _________________________________________________________ #6 About 23,200 orders of French fries are sold.
Hello my friend The racetrack is home to the second race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and will celebrate its 40th anniversary during the 2008 season. Dover is unique in many ways. It is exactly one mile long; technically this means that it is neither a superspeedway nor a short track. The speedway surface is concrete; most NASCAR track surfaces are asphalt. The concrete surface is notoriously hard on cars, bringing about its nickname of The Monster Mile. The speedway's mascot is called "Miles the Monster" which is a concrete monster spawned from the track's nickname, "The Monster Mile." The monster is featured on the winner's trophy, the track's tickets, memorabilia, website, and more. A previous nickname that the track had was the "White Lightning." New for 2008, Miles the Monster will become the largest attraction at a NASCAR track and will be one of the tallest fiberglass structures in the world. The Monster Monument stands 46 feet-tall amongst race fans in the newly created Victory Plaza at Dover International Speedway.
Hello my friend !!! Since 2004, the race has served as the opening round of the "Chase for the Sprint Cup", a ten-race "playoff" designed among the top ten (twelve as of 2007) drivers in the standings of the series following the Chevy Rock and Roll 400. The 2001 fall race, originally scheduled for September 16, 2001, was postponed due to the 9/11 terror attacks. Not wanting to cancel the event outright, NASCAR decided to reschedule the race to the next available date, November 23, 2001, the day after Thanksgiving. The race had Robby Gordon, driving the #31 Lowe's Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, win his first ever race in NASCAR. Have a great weekend. eddie
Hello my friend its Labor Day weekend and time for football and racing. In 1999, Penske Motorsports Inc. merged with International Speedway Corporation, bringing California Speedway into the ISC family of tracks. Beginning in 2004, California Speedway's 2-mile oval became the host of two Cup Series races each year, adding a Labor Day weekend event to its roster of activities. The track was renamed in February 2008. It is now called the Auto Club Speedway. 2007 Race Results Sprint Cup Series Sharp AQUOS 500 : Jimmie Johnson-09/02/07 Auto Club 500 : Matt Kenseth-02/25/07 Cup Historical Race Winners Nationwide Series Camping World 300 presented by RVs.com:Jeff Burton-09/01/07 Stater Bros. 300 : Matt Kenseth-02/24/07 Craftsman Truck Series San Bernardino County 200: Mike Skinner-02/23/07 Carl VS Kyle In the wake of last weekend's bump-and-run and post-race altercation at Bristol, is it going to get ugly between championship leaders Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards? Hello my friend its time for Bristol Night Racing. Bristol is a legendary short track with a larger than life reputation. A lot of things make it unique, the high banks, all the grandstands surrounding the track, it sounds different than any other track. It is just a very special place. You realize it as soon as you step foot in the place. You definitely know that you are at Bristol. Some tracks you go to and it is just another intermediate track with no real character to it. In case you've ever wondered why Bristol Motor Speedway packs more than 150,000 fans into a half-mile racetrack on a steamy Saturday night in August, you only have to look at a pair of "tag, you're it" incidents between Terry Labonte and Dale Earnhardt under the lights to understand a little of the intensity. In both 1995 and 1999, it was a hard-charging Earnhardt who rammed leader Labonte's rear bumper on the final lap. In the first instance, Labonte somehow skidded across the finish line first to win. In the second, it was Earnhardt who wound up in Victory Lane amid a chorus of boos, adding another chapter to his legend as the Intimidator. And it led to one of Earnhardt's greatest post-race quotes: "I wanted to rattle his cage." The last time Sprint Cup visited Bristol RCR finished 1st,2nd and 3rd. With Jeff Burton in 1st, Kevin Harvick in 2nd and Clint Bowyer in 3rd. Have a great weekend eddie
Hello my friend,I hope your week is going good. Johnny Benson shares the Craftsman Truck Series record for consecutive victories at three with four drivers: Mike Skinner, Ron Hornaday, Greg Biffle and Todd Bodine. He can break out of that select group and become the first driver to win four in a row tonight in the O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Jimmie Johnson,NO.#81 KOBALT TOOLS SILVERADO:“I’m excited.I got my start racing off-road trucks, so it’s going to be cool to be back in a truck. I’ve never driven one before. I’ve always wondered how they drive and what they’re about. Ron Hornaday,NO.#33 CAMPING WORLD SILVERADO:“Bristol is different with the new surface. It’s slower and has more aggressive banking than On the old surface, you could run on the bottom of the track through the turns. With the new surface, it opens the track up a little more. We’ll be on a new tire this year, one that we have never used in the NASCAR Truck Series. eddie
Hello my friend, well we are getting closer to the chase. Here are the winners in points paying races to date. With its wide banked turns and multiple grooves, Michigan International Speedway has a reputation for some great side-by-side racing. In fact, the first NASCAR event there in 1969 resulted in a last-lap battle between Cale Yarborough and LeeRoy Yarbrough, with Cale winning. But that combination can also result in a lack of caution flags. On three occasions, a Michigan race has gone the entire 400-mile distance without a break, the most recent coming in Dale Jarrett's dominating 1999 victory. eddie
Hello my friend Have a great weekend Watkins Glen is one of only two road courses on the NASCAR Cup schedule, and its also one of only two stops on the schedule where drivers have to make a right hand turn,in other words they go clockwise. The 2.45 mile racing circuit is very fast, twisting and challenging turns all with variable banking that ranges from 6 to 10 degrees. The frontstretch is a downhill plunge to a hard right hander, shortly followed by a charge uphill through a series of esses and out onto the long backstretch. NASCAR weekend at the Glen received a double shot-Zippo Manufacturing announced a three year extension of the Nationwide Series race, the Zippo 200.The Sprint Cup series is now known as The Centurion Boats at the Glen, another multi-year deal that goes through 2009. And lets not forget the truck race on the speed channel tonight.
Pocono is not an oval track nor is it a road course hence the term roval Pocono Raceway has a unique design. Each turn is modeled after turns at 3 different tracks. Turn One (14 degree banking) was modeled after the now defunct Trenton Speedway, Turn Two (also known as"The Tunnel Turn") is like Indianapolis Motor Speedway (8 degree banking),and Turn 3 has 6 degree is similar to The Milwaukee Mile. It could be said to be a tri-oval, but the turns are much more severe than those of a more typical tri-oval such as Daytona and the track is really nearly a triangle. They have been likened somewhat to the hairpin-style turns of road courses. For its unique characteristics, Pocono is sometimes referred to as a roval. The NAPA Auto Parts 200 is a NASCAR Nationwide Series race that takes place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, The inaugural race took place on August 4, 2007,which Kevin Harvick won the inaugural race at Montreal. The track sits on a man-made island in the St. Lawrence River. It was named after the late Canadian driver Gilles Villeneuve, father of 1997 F1 world champ Jacques Villeneuve. Have a great weekend
The Allstate 400 at The Brickyard, introduced as the Brickyard 400 in 1994, is an annual 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup points race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. The event, when first held in 1994, marked the first race other than the Indianapolis 500 to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1916. Since the inaugural race, the Allstate 400 has become NASCAR's most-attended event, drawing an estimated crowd of more than 250,000 fans annually. It also has become NASCAR's second highest paying race in dollars (behind the Daytona 500). The term "Brickyard" is in reference to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's nickname. The course was paved in brick in 1909, and they remain under the asphalt pavement to this day, with 3 feet for the entire width of the track at the start/finish line. Several NASCAR teams were invited to a one-day test session at the speedway by track president Tony George in 1993, and the inaugural Brickyard 400 was held one year later. In 1994. Which Jeff Gordon won and Dale Earnhardt won in 1995 There are 14 races left in this 2008 Nationwide Series season, but we could possibly know who the champion will be when the checkered flag flies Saturday in the Kroger 200 at O'Reilly Raceway Park.In seven of the past 11 the winner at ORP has gone on to win the series title that same season. While Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the most popular racetrack in the Hoosier State, the vast majority of motorsports events held in Indianapolis are held at O'Reilly Raceway Park, including a NW Series race and a Craftsman Truck race. Hello my friend On November 2, 2007, a change in ownership was announced. Bruton Smith, owner of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., announced their purchase of NHIS for $340 million cash. The name of the speedway changed to New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Both of its Sprint Cup dates will remain for the 2008 season. The Lenox Industrial Tools 301 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire. Organizers added an extra lap starting in 2008 to signal the fact that the title sponsor, Lenox Industrial Tools, "is looking for users and suppliers of industrial tools that go the extra mile, whose jobs are physically demanding, day after day, and still find time to contribute to their communities in a meaningful way. The race has been dubbed The Extra Mile at the Magic Mile. NASCAR's Nationwide Series takes center stage at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 28 for the Camping World 200. Always a top event on the circuit. Memphis Motorsports Park will flip the switch Saturday night on enough horsepower and star power to light up the night when the track hosts the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O’Reilly 200. In a first-time promotion, Memphis Motorsports Park and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series are rewarding four lucky race fans with a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be Honorary Pit Crew Members this Saturday at the O’Reilly 200. Have a great weekend eddie

The Toyota/Save Mart 350 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event held at Infineon Raceway. This race is one of the only two Sprint Cup races each year that is run on a non-oval track, with 12 turns over the 1.99 mile track. Due to its unique layout, it creates a discussion each time it comes, with people both in favor and against racing this race.It was held for the first time in 1989. In the 1991 race, the first car to cross the finish line, Ricky Rudd, was black flagged and penalized five seconds for running into the back of, and spinning out Davey Allison with a little over one lap to go. The controversial penalty relegated him to second place, and gave Davey Allison the victory. Since 1903, The Milwaukee Mile has been one of the premier venues in American motorsports. It is the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway began contesting events in 1911. On July 3, 1993, the NASCAR Bush/NW Series returned to Milwaukee. The event was won by Steve Grissom. In 1996 Wisconsin native Dick Trickle was passed with four laps to go by Buckshot Jones. Five drivers that won the NASCAR Bush/NW Series race at Milwaukee went on to win the Busch/NW Series championship in the same year(Steve Grissom-1993,Randy LaJoie-1997, Dale Earnhardt Jr-1998,Jeff Green-2000,Greg Biffle-2002) The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series began racing at Milwaukee in its inaugural season in 1995. Mike Skinner won the event. The 1996 event featured 17 lead changes. The CTS has returned every season since 1995. Two drivers have the distinction of having won both a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race and a NASCAR Busch/NW Series race at Milwaukee. Ron Hornaday won in Truck race in 1996 and the Busch/NW race in 2004, while Greg Biffle won the Truck race in 1999 and the Busch/NW race in 2001 and 2002.The track was resurfaced after the 1995 season.
Michigan International Speedway is a two-mile, moderate-banked, D-shaped superspeedway located off U.S. Highway 12 on more than 1,400 acres [1] near Brooklyn, in the scenic Irish Hills area of southeastern Michigan. The track is used primarily for NASCAR events. It is sometimes known as a "sister track" Texas World Speedway, and was used as the basis of Auto Club Speedway. The track is currently owned by International Speedway Corporation. Michigan International Speedway is recognized as one of motorsports premier facilities because of its wide racing surface and high banking (to open-wheel standards; the 18-degree banking is modest to stock car standards). Michigan is now one of the fastest tracks in NASCAR due to its wide, sweeping corners and long straightaways; typical qualifying speeds are in excess of 190 mph and corner entry speeds easily exceed 200 mph. Opened in 2000, the 1.5-mile tri-oval Kentucky Speedway hosts four race weekends a year, including the Busch/NW Series and Craftsman Trucks. Carl Edwards became the first driver to win races at Kentucky in both series when he won the 2005 Busch Series Meijer 300. He had previously been to Victory Lane in the Truck Series in 2003. The track has become one of the top tracks for testing Sprint Cup cars, because of NASCAR's testing restrictions implemented in 2005. As a result of the new testing restrictions, teams may only test at NASCAR-authorized testing sessions at seven specific tracks on the Sprint Cup circuit. As Kentucky is not a Sprint Cup venue, private testing of such cars is permitted with no restrictions, and spectators are allowed to view testing sessions from outside of turn three. The three-year sponsorship deal for the Cool City Customs 200 will extend through 2010. The sponsorship also makes Cool City Customs the “Official Custom Bike Builder” of Michigan International Speedway. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races at MIS features some of the best racing the series has to offer. With speeds exceeding 180 mph, the NCTS has become quite a fan favorite since joining the MIS schedule in 1999. Last June, Travis Kvapil made a late-race pass of Kyle Busch to earn his second career truck win at the two-mile oval. With many Sprint Cup regulars battling the seasoned veterans, the Cool City Customs 200 will be a must-see event in 2008.
Pocono Raceway has a unique design. Each turn is modeled after turns at 3 different tracks. Turn One (14 degree banking) was modeled after the now defunct Trenton Speedway, Turn Two (also known as "The Tunnel Turn") is like Indianapolis Motor Speedway (8 degree banking), and Turn 3 (6 degree banking) is similar to The Milwaukee Mile. It could be said to be a tri-oval, but the turns are much more severe than those of a more typical tri-oval such as Daytona and the track is really nearly a triangle. They have been likened somewhat to the hairpin-style turns of road courses. An additional complication is that the three turns are not identical, nor are any of the three straights identical in length. Nashville Superspeedway, built in 2000, is one of only three concrete tracks on the NASCAR circuit. The pavement, consisting of 7,500 cubic yards of concrete, was placed full-width for the entire length of the track by a concrete paving machine that was specially constructed for this project. The first Busch Series race was held in April 2001 with Greg Biffle winning, and later that year the Craftsman Truck Series made its debut at the 1.333-mile track when Scott Riggs won in August.

Sun Tzu’s “Art of War”, a tome the Asian cultures reference for military, social, governmental and business strategy implores the general to utilize the troops of the conquered to do your bidding. If you quickly and mercilessly conquer an opponent, and show the armies that you are fair and equitable, the troops will gladly do your bidding if they are compensated appropriately. This allows you to increase your forces and conserve your resources at home. So it is said, so it is done.
Hello my friend The California Speedway is a two-mile, low-banked, D-shaped oval superspeedway in Fontana, California, similar to its "sister track" Michigan International Speedway. The facility is often used for television shows and commercials, and for major films. In 2000, portions of Charlie's Angels were filmed at the speedway and in 2004, portions of Herbie: Fully Loaded were filmed there. Kaiser Steel went out of business in 1983. Following that, the site fell into such disrepair that it was used in the movie The Terminator to portray a post-Apocalyptic world where men and machines battled each other for supremacy and survival. Have a great weekend of racing eddie
Hello my friend The Daytona 500 is a 200-lap, 500 mile NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race held annually at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is one of four restrictor plate races on the Cup schedule. In 2008, the race will celebrate its 50th running. Daytona International Speedway renovated its infield before the 2005 Daytona 500 to add a "Fan Zone" that allows fans to buy tickets giving them one of the best up-close views of a NASCAR garage and other special amenities. Have a ball this weekend eddie
Hello my friend The Gatorade Duel, is NASCAR Sprint Cup preliminary event to the Daytona 500 held annually in February at Daytona International Speedway. It consists of two 150-mile races, and serves as a qualifying race for the Daytona 500. The finishing order in the two 150-mile races, held on Thursday, determine the starting lineup for the Daytona 500 held on Sunday.I'm gonna be sick that day "cough cough"lol, so no work for me.The races will be on the Speed channel and should be wild. Have a great Valentine's Day
We'll be in the Chevy early in the morning and headed South to Daytona on I-95 ... Hopefully will be a great Speedweeks / 500 for the 88. Looking forward to chatting with you this season. Happy
Days, John.
The smaller,invitation-only field consists of all of the pole position winners from the previous season as well as former event winners. The starting lineup is determined by a random draw. Budweiser will discontinue sponsorship of the NASCAR pole award for the 2008 season, and be replaced by Coors. The 2008 Budweiser Shootout will be held as planned, but may be the last running. The contract with Coors did not include any announcements for future runnings of the race. Have a great weekend eddie
