About to cross the line of fire!

Three wide into the high bank.
Hope there's more than faith in the tank.

One lone driver with so much to do,
In the pit waits a hopeful crew.

We jump the wall and steady our hands,
Crew Chief YELLS go catchcan man!

Rightsides only and a splash of gas.
It's now up to the driver not to finish last.

As the checkers wave to show the end.
The whole pit crew cheers for their friend.

First place for us today,
Tomorrow comes what may!

Have you been able to get any good information on diesel conversions, that don't just KILL the pocketbooks?

Like I wouldn't? Here is one from my current book: The NEED for SPEED in Poetry. And I have more, My boys in the Pits Rock!

The Pits



Races are won, Here in the pits.
And the crew chief sits, Atop his big box.
Reminding the men, About the stop clock.
“ Under 14, that’s what we need”
That’s what we need, To stay in the lead.
The driver agrees,
But adds one more thing:
“ you men are the best”
The best on the lane.
Now let’s win this ol’ race
The crew chief replies,
And prove we’re the best,
you know that it’s true,
The Men in the pits,
Take the race through.
So here’s to the men,
Who risk life and limb.
To bring us a show ,
We can never forget.
For if you set the driver aside,
It’s all won in the pits,
And that’s no lie.
