It was awesome. Orange County Choppers made National Guard a chopper. There are so many details it's hard to get everything on just a few pics. Here are 2. But here it is : -The field will be have 24 cars -Six teams from each manufacturer Chevrolet, Dodge Ford and Toyota -The teams will be chosen based on the the final 2008 car owner points -Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman cannot compete, as they will be switching from Toyota to Chevrolet and Dodge to Chevrolet -The race distance is increased from 70 laps to 75 laps -The race will consist of segments of 25 and 50 laps (both green flag and yellow flag laps counting) -There will be a 10 minute intermission between segments -Starting position will be determined by a blind draw I don't like that one bit. Does anybody automatically get in? Can Bill Elliott be in it again, since he was a previous shootout winner? Will Junior always be in it? Tony won't be in it, but he's won it 3 times before This is so not cool

That was Pat's first time racing Bristol and at the first caution he yelled... "Holy, whoa, that's racing!!!" He was hilarious learning that place and he was running 15th till his throttle stuck with 14 to go and they were done for the night but got a lot of experience. The hauler parade was really neat and hanging with Lisa, Bruce and the gang was very entertaining to say the least. Friday, mixed emotions there... Lisa and I went to all the practice sessions and quals and she and I had an absolute blast. The stuff on the track STUNK! Pat told his crew that the changes they were making were taking the rear out of the track and yet nobody listened... He goes out to qual and is so loose it looked like he was on ice. He was so good in the truck race, he was going to be great in Cup. Nationwide race, well things were great with Sadler until Edwards got into him. He still had a good car but just wouldn't race...just gave up and rode around. This is what really jerks me about him sometimes. Even Lisa noticed what he did and couldn't believe it. Anyway, I was so ticked that I left Saturday morning and skipped the Cup race and came home. Glad I did. I missed hanging with Lisa though. She and her family are great. Anyway, I got lots of pics and am working on resizing them. Will post when I am done. -Vandy

Funny how that works. lol Congratulations to Brad and Carl on their wins this past weekend at Bristol. And I am proud of Matt for moving up to the top 10 and keeping his Chase status. Busch had NO right to scrap him at the end, yeah Carl did a bump and run at the end but ya know, Busch bumped him right back but didn't pass him back! Busch is the BIGGEST sore loser ever. Hubby and I are leaving Friday morning the 22nd of August till the 31st of August. We are going camping and some much needed R&R… Oh never fear we are going to a campground that has cable..and yes we will be watching the races this weekend…lol So having said that..good luck to all the drivers…you never know what’s going to happen at Bristol..such a fun track to attend. Update on Debbie (WvLuv4Jr)…I have talked with Debbie several times on the phone…Debbie is still at her Mother’s. They are taking care of some business..both are doing as well as expected. I told Debbie about all the comments that was left on my page and in the thread that I started…she was very pleased with each and everyone of them. She is hoping to get home next week..but she said she was taking it one day at a time..it all depends on her Mother. Just wanted to let you know …. OUR BEST DAY BELIEVE IT OR NOT WAS FRIDAY PROBABLY BECAUSE WE GOT REALLY CLOSE TO SOME OF THE DRIVERS. I GOT RYAN AND BRIANS AUTOGRAPH. SURE WISH I COULD OF GOTTON ELLIOTTS. ELLIOTTS PIT GUYS TALKED TO US ONE OF THE ACTUALLY TOOK OUR PICTURE BUT THAT'S ON JUNYA FEVERS CAMERA I DON'T HAVE THAT. WE NATURALLY GOT PUT ON THE WRONG TRAM AFTER THE RACE ENDED UP IN THE WRONG AREA TO GET OUR CAR. BUT ONE GOOD THING WHEN WE DID GET TO OUR CAR EVERYBODY WAS GONE SO WE JUST DROVE RIGHT ON OUT. LOL BUT ALL IN ALL WAS A FUN TRIP. GOING DOWN ON FRIDAY FOR PRACTICE AND QUALIFYING WAS WORTH THE $50 IN GAS. WE SAW MORE IN THE PIT ON FRIDAY THAN SUNDAY.
