Hey Ya'll, well even though neither boy is "MY" driver I have to say congrats!! Edwards did a great job this season and did give Johnson a run for his money. It was nice to see the rivalry between drivers but in a real sportsmanship kinda way, non of the "nasty" stuff !! Lord knows how bad they both wanted to win!! Don't know if I'll get back here to wish ya'll a happy Thanksgiving, sooo....enjoy your holidays with whom ever you spend them with, be happy and truly Thankful for all we do have!! It's finally getting to feel like winter here in Jersey, I know most people tell me I'm crazy but I LOVE the Autumn and winter I look forward to the leaves changing and the hopes of snow, LOTS AND LOTS OF SNOW!!! Well take care all of my IP pals, it's nice to know I have friends ALL over!!! Goble Goble!! Love and hugs and smiles!!! Debby

Matt was deep in thought during practice this week....planning a way to once
again take the win at Homestead....a repeat of last year!!

My special thanks to Jeff Garvin, photographer for TSRS (Texas Super Racing
Series) and who also covers TMS occasionally for Nascar. Matt's car pic was
taken at the recent TMS race this fall. Well, another season has come and will
soon be gone, but hopefully all of you will still be gathering right here on IP
during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Valentine holidays to share
your family and personal news with us!! Before we know it....Season 2009 will
begin and we'll be back at it!!! Yea!!! Good luck to all of the drivers this weekend
and........

I know...I am in my second childhood...lol. Actually, it my zodiac symbol (not
sign) for scorpio, but it looks like an "M" so it's Matt's good luck charm too. lol
This was Cindy's (follown26) birthday present to me when I visited her in Florida
recently....by the way...we had a ball!! The beach was absolutely beautiful so I
thought I would share some pics with you about the trip too....

The white sandy beaches were just breathtaking and I really enjoyed sinking my
feet down into them while Cindy just looked on saying..."Tourists"!!!!!!!!!! lol

We went to this really neat shopping area that had a Bass Pro Shop in it and we
couldn't resist a "Kodac" moment with the hanging shark....again, Cindy said...
"Tourists"!!!! lol

Cindy has been my friend for two years now and we have talked on the phone
everyday since we first met....but this is the first time we had ever met. She was
a gracious hostess and I love her to pieces. The last picture is just to show you
the clear, blue and green water that is there and to show you Fred...see the pelican
just to the left of my head??? The subject matter for the pic wasn't me...it was
him...lol. He never moved an inch the whole time we were taking pictures...lol. All
in all, Cindy and I had a wonderful time and I hated to leave...don't tell her!! lol

Now, back to the Race Day talk.....good luck to all of the drivers in Phoenix and of
course.....GO MATT!!

First off Happy Halloween my friend

Second I hope you have a great weekend

The Dickies 500 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car race held at
the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. The inaugural
race took place on November 6, 2005. The race is held on the first
weekend in November each year; TMS has expressed interest in changing
the date, which is also the opening weekend of deer hunting season
in Texas.

The race was acquired as a result of the Ferko lawsuit, which forced
NASCAR to relinquish the sport's fourth major, the Mountain Dew Southern
500 and in the process end its Grand Slam, as the Southern 500 was one
of the four races that made it up.

Two racetracks formerly on the Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup Series)
schedule were closed to make room for Texas Motor Speedway's two
race dates, with the North Wilkesboro Speedway being one and
The North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham being the other.
There was a lot more to this lawsuit but to much to explain the details.

Hello my friend
The Intimidator Dale Earnhardt's Record at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Most wins :___9 _____Dale Earnhardt
Most Top 5s:__ 26 ____Dale Earnhardt
Avg. finish:__ 9.5___ Dale Earnhardt

Bruton Smith changed a lot when he purchased Atlanta
International Raceway on Oct. 23, 1990, and renamed the
facility Atlanta Motor Speedway. A year later, the addition
of the East Turn Grandstand expanded the seating capacity by
25,000, and the 30 suites that rimmed the top gave the track
a high-class look.

In 2006, more than 13,000 seats were added with the building
of Winners Grandstand in Turn 1, as well as new luxury seating
called Club One and the East Turn grandstand was renamed the
Elliott grandstand. Additionally, more than 90 motorcoach
parking spaces were added along the backstretch, strengthening
the fan-centric atmosphere of Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Toyota Tundra will make its ninth NCTS start at Atlanta Motor
Speedway this weekend. In eight previous starts at the track,
Tundra drivers have combined for three victories including the
spring races in 2006 (Todd Bodine), 2007 (Mike Skinner) and 2008
(Busch). Earlier this year, Busch led 39 of 130 laps for the win
at Atlanta, driving the No. 51 Tundra for Billy Ballew Motorsports.

Johnny Benson, driver of the No. 23 Bill Davis Racing Tundra won
the NCTS race at Martinsville Saturday after passing race-leader
and championship foe Ron Hornaday, Jr. with 46 laps to go. He
held off all challengers to make his first victory lane visit
at Martinsville's "Paper Clip".

Founded in 1986, Memphis Motorsports Park is located just
minutes from Graceland and world-famous Beale Street in
Memphis"Home of the Blues, Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll.
"The multi-track facility includes a three-quarter-mile
NASCAR oval, a one-quarter-mile NHRA championship drag strip,
a 1.77-mile road course and more than 400 acres that host
more than 200 events and 550,000 racers and race fans each year.
The race can be seen on ESPN Classic/3 p.m Eastern Time.
The race is also supposed to be simulcast on Speed.

Have a great weekend

UPON CHECKING THEE OLDE ANSWER MACHINE LAST NIGHT:

[Beep!] "Hi, this is Barack Obama. The road ahead is gonna be rocky and
there are no easy fixes to our problems. But together we can forge a new
direction that brings peace and prosperity back to America, and restores our
good name throughout the world. I'd appreciate your vote on November 4th. I paid
for this message. Thank you."

[Beep!] "This is John McCain informing you that Barack Obama wants to steal
your babies and sell them for money to buy mansions for deadbeats. And then
he'll convene a summit in the White House for terrorists. Vote for me, my
friends. Because Barack Obama "may" be an American...but I'm the good kind of
American. This message paid for with a quarter I found under a parking meter."

[Beep!] "Hello, this is Colin Powell. I think Barack Obama would be a
transformational president. For that reason I will be voting for him. His
election would not just electrify our country, it would electrify the world.
Thank you."

[Beep!] "Hey, McCain here again. Obama-ACORN! Or is it ACORN-Obama? Ha Ha
Ha Ha Ha!!!! Cindy, my beer's warm again! Cindy, get in here, you
lazy...[Click.]"

[Beep!] "This is Senator Susan Collins, and I just wanna say that these
McCain 'robocalls' have no place in our great state of Maine. I am outraged! I
am ready to start ripping trees out of the ground! And if he doesn't stop
running them within, say, 14 days, I am really going to have to put my foot
down. Oh, the nerve! I gotta go now, Olympia's taking me to the Gap." [Click.]

[Beep!] "Sarah Palin here, goshdarnit. I hear Joe Biden pals around with
terrorists on Amtrak! And that's bad because Amtrak is socialism! This message
paid for by Palin in 2012. I'm the treasurer, y'know!"

[Beep!] "Maverick here. [Braaaapppp!] Hear that? The old man's still got
it. Lindsay Graham told me to call this number and speak to Amanda Hugginkiss.
So I really need Amanda Hugginkiss. I need Amanda Hugginkiss badly, my friends.
This message paid for with S&H Green Stamps." [Click.]

[Beep!] "Hey, Biden here. Gosh, I'm sorry to interrupt your breakfast but,
look, God love John McCain...I love him, he's a good guy but he's acting like he
just escaped from the funny farm on a pogo stick, ladies and gentlemen. That's
number one. Number two, if your greatest accomplishments are flip-flopping on a
bridge to nowhere and building a pipeline to nowhere, you shouldn't be a
heartbeat away from the presidency. That's just the reality, ladies and
gentleman. And number three, this message was paid for out of our petty cash
fund's petty cash fund."

[Beep!] "Hi, this is Joe Lieberman. I just wanna go on record as saying
that John McCain should've put me on the ticket instead of "her" because I
woulda been awesome. Can I come over to your house? John never plays with me
anymore."

Have A Great Friday And A Fantastic Weekend!!

I have missed all of my IP friends lately...I am so sorry for my absense! I've just
had a very busy time lately...this month has been something else!!!!!

I wasn't on IP last week because I was busy making Halloween costumes for
friends and family for a party last Saturday night and I ended up wearing just a
t-shirt...lol. But that shirt was stuffed with about 65 Walmart plastic bags and I
was litterally burning up with the 80's temps we were having...lol. It was like a
sauna in there. I also want all of my friends to know that this too is going to be
a very busy week for me. I have a birthday celebration in Austin on Wednesday;
and then when I return on Thursday, I will be packing to leave on a trip to Florida.
I am leaving on Monday, October 27 (my birthday) to go spend the week with my
friend Cindy (follown26) and my friend Ashley (kahnebudgirl) will be joining us on
Thursday, October 30, for a day of fun on the beach. I can't wait. We are going to
have a ball....wish all of my friends could be there. If you live in the area and want
to meet with us...let me know!! I am only telling you this now in case I run out of
time and can't post a race day post to everyone. And...thought you might want
a Maxine send off too....

I think Maxines just has a thing about pumpkins...

I guess she is still up to her devilish ways too...lol. Have a great Tuesday my
friend and a wonderful week. I hope to talk to you before the weekend. Hugs.

Hello my friend

A year after Martinsville Speedway opened in 1947, NASCAR was formed.
NASCAR began operation in 1948 and Martinsville Speedway ran its first
NASCAR race on July 4th of that year. In 1949, Martinsville ran the
sixth race in the series that eventually became the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

At slightly more than half a mile, Martinsville Speedway is the shortest
track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Circuit, but it's one of the biggest when
it comes to action. It has 800-foot straights, turns banked at only 12
degrees and has been called "two drag strips with a turnaround on each
end." The demanding layout consistently produces some of the wildest
fender scrubbing, push and shove racing of the year.

Martinsville Speedway opened in 1947 with 750 seats and has grown
continuously over the years. But, other than being paved in 1955,
the track configuration has not changed.

Richard Petty, now a car owner, remains the track's
leading winner with 15 victories.

They’re $2 a piece and they come wrapped in wax paper.A couple of years ago,
soon after International Speedway Corp. bought the track from the family of
the late Clay Earles, who had founded it, we got here one Friday and something
had changed The hot dogs were being served in little foam boxes. You got them
pretty much plain and had to go apply your own condiments. And they weren’t
quite red enough. It was, quite frankly, an outrage.

Eddie Wood, co-owner of the Wood Brothers team from nearby Stuart, Va.,
was fighting mad about it. He found NASCAR president Mike Helton and
demanded things be put back the way they were. Immediately. Before long,
word of the crisis got back to hot dog connoisseur Bill France Jr.
and phone calls were immediately made. This was serious business.

Have a great weekend

As ya noticed I've added a pic of me with my grandson I NEVER like my own photos but this one with Landon I love!! My grandson's "other" poppop is doing wonderful after having the stint put in you'd never know it had been done, me and my "gang" are happy and healthy and sure do hope all of your "gang" is doing the same!! I'll most likley miss the next few races so keep me posted as to the winners, I'll be home to catch the rap-up!!! Take care with many warm Autumn hugs and smiles, your IP pal Debby!!!!
