Hello pit_kid64's just swing bye to say hello and I hope you Have a good week and a great safe weekend, I enjoy it down in Dega. The only thing I did not like is the people that threw the cans, I understand why they may have been made but that no reason to ruin it for others. I think they should have stopped the race and cleaned the track, then they could of had a 5 lap shootout, I am not saying that Jeff did not win the race, but I just think they need to be more strick with the rules, not from track to track, Just my two cents, and yes Denny is a good driver I like him, I'd like to see him win some more races this year, he's kinda a low key guy. Well till next time Take Care...
Hi pit_kid64, I was wrong Islip Speedway has been closed since 1984, And Riverhead Raceway is still opened. Here is the link to Riverhead, www.riverheadraceway.com, Also I yahooed Islip Speedway and I found out that back in the 60`s and 70`s when I was a little kid that they ran the Nascar Grand Nationals there, And greats like Petty and Allison raced there. I had no idea! I can`t believe that Nascar, just about raced in my back yard. I did not get into racing until the early eighty's and nobody in my family watch it, So I was not aware of it then. Oh well talk to ya later.
Hey pit_kid64, No I never went out to River Head, I use to go to Islip Speedway, Which was where they ran demolition derby and figure eight . And I went to Hampton Raceway back in the 80`s which was a quarter mile track,My ex-wifes uncle use to race out there so I spent a lot of weekends out there. But they closed that track in 2004,And I think they renamed the track to Long Island Raceway before they closed, and I don`t know about Islip if it is still opened. Yeah that was the good times then, but I did not know River Head was still opened, If it is I will have to go check it out, I will be going to Long Island in two weeks and then again two weeks after that, I still have a lot of family and friends out there. Well good talking to ya and talk to you soon.
PS. I like the pictures you have on your page, That was the good old days. lol
