I am taking a racing vacation like I have for the last 25 years. I have not missed one of these shows since it started. After getting everything stolen from our campsite last year, I
was considering not going but the idea of going back and seeing some great friends over shadowed the disappointment in other race fans. But I am sure the way we acted some were
disappointed with us too…LOL
Have a great race day and enjoy Labor Day Holiday Weekend. And please everyone be safe!
Your most welcome. I thought it was cute when I saw it. Had a few
minutes this morning to read some comments. I have just been running these past few weeks and am now heading to Iowa for a week of some dirt racing so wont be around much again. Hope you are
having a great week and talk to you soon. Hugs, BD
That was Pat's first time racing Bristol and at the first caution he yelled...
"Holy, whoa, that's racing!!!"
He was hilarious learning that place and he was running 15th till his throttle stuck with 14 to go and they were done for the night but got a lot of experience.
The hauler parade was really neat and hanging with Lisa, Bruce and the gang was very entertaining to say the least.
Friday, mixed emotions there...
Lisa and I went to all the practice sessions and quals and she and I had an absolute blast.
The stuff on the track STUNK!
Pat told his crew that the changes they were making were taking the rear out of the track and yet nobody listened...
He goes out to qual and is so loose it looked like he was on ice.
He was so good in the truck race, he was going to be great in Cup.
Nationwide race, well things were great with Sadler until Edwards got into him.
He still had a good car but just wouldn't race...just gave up and rode around.
This is what really jerks me about him sometimes.
Even Lisa noticed what he did and couldn't believe it.
Anyway, I was so ticked that I left Saturday morning and skipped the Cup race and came home.
Glad I did. I missed hanging with Lisa though.
She and her family are great.
Anyway, I got lots of pics and am working on resizing them.
Hi, just got done clearing a virus off my computer. It was a bad one. Took me two hours to get it off of my computer. Just what I needed tonight. Then I got an e-mail saying I was leading the fantasy racing points...woohoo I am excited. The very first week I was in first then had a string of bad picks. I fell all the way back in the 40's and finally worked my way back to the top. I know it wont last but it is fun to at least be there for a few days..LOL
Wow, that is awesome!! But I am afraid that I would have gone and talked with him at the bar. As a matter a fact, I know I would have. You dont get many chances like that and who cares if he thought you were stalking him...LOL The pictures are fantastic! He is such a cool guy. I mean that is a guy saying it about a guy, but I think he would be really great to hang out with. Just from seeing him on TV. I am so glad you had a great time. It was quite a race. I really hope he can get something put together and get on the track every week. I mean their is no way that people can not like him. Everytime I saw one of those guys with the wigs on, I kept thinking of you....And to tell the truth, I would have loved to be there doing the same thing. One of these days I hope I get to meet him to. Is he tall, he sure looks like it on TV? I am only 6 foot 6 so maybe he is a driver I can look into the eyes of..LOL Again, glad you had a great time. I will look at pics again tomorrow. About to head off to sleep land. Thank you again for the updates. BD
Well it sounds like you guys had a good time out there. The said heads received a lot of coverage through out the weekend so that was good. That would be cool if boris got the petty ride. Maybe then I could meet him because our race shop is next to petty ent. Anyway I hope you have a nice week and thanks again fo the continued support.
Best of luck to Boris tomorrow. I am really happy for you that you get to be there. If anyone can do it, he can get
it done. And I know what you mean about him being disappointed. I saw the interview after qualifying was cancelled. I felt so bad for him but he gave such a great interview holding the
disappointment in. He is an awesome person and really hope he gets that chance. I will be cheering for him tomorrow because we are going to will the rain away...LOL Good luck tomorrow and have a
great time! BD
So glad to here that. The first one I thought of was you when I heard Boris was going to get to drive the 45 car for Petty. He had to get the okay to drive a Ford but he got the okay and got into the race. Which is just fantastic since you are there. Not get your Saidhead wig and cheer for him to get to victory lane. That would just be so cool. Good luck with the sunburn and have a great time tomorrow!! BD
no I haven't had the chance to meet him yet but I'm sure I will one day. That picture was awesome. That would be cool to see him run a dirt race. anyway have fun this weekend and pull for us as well. Talk to you later.
Hey Saidhead, I'm not sure if the track is going to be giving out hot passes for NASCAR. Usually they are pretty hard to come by, but I will check with the head of ticketing and let you know what I find out. PS...I went to buy a Sobe No Fear Boris Die-Cast last year, and they didn't have any here for Watkins. Do you know anywhere I could find one of those? Let me know.
You wake up to the sound of the racetrack and go to sleep to the sound of Lynrd Skynrd and fireworks!!! LOL Doesnt matter what track you're at....always the same...
