ABOUT ME
Introduction I love NASCAR because it's a family sport and I feel like I have a larger family now as a result. And, truthfully there is a tremedous sense of pride being at the racetrack and cheering the drivers, and even more when they win
In a nutshell, I was born on Dale Earnhardt's birthday (4-29-1976) in the state of Texas. I have loved racing since I was little. Some of my friends can't understand my passion for the sport (some even call me a freak). That's why I am so grateful to be here. I have gone to the last four races here at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. If you're ever here in Las Vegas during race weekend, check out our awesome Neon Garage. There is truly no better way of getting closer to the action........well, unless you're with NASCAR.
NASCAR gave me another reason to head back to my home state of Texas after 25 years. I was there in November of 2005 and can't wait to head back there for another race in my home state. I can't tell you what it was like to have my favorite drivers win on my "hometown" track. That's what it's like out here in Las Vegas too.
I am lucky in the fact I have a track in the town where I was born and one where I was raised. So, NASCAR is never very far from my life and is sort of my life, but I guess being born on the day I was, that makes sense, right?
It also made sense when I got my first car in June 2008. It's a 2008 Black Chevy Cobalt it was only a month off the assembly line when I got it. My mom has a 1998 Black Chevy Lumina and I have my Cobalt. So, we are a Chevy driven family.
I have been lucky to make some great friends here and on myspace. Family and NASCAR is what I truly treasure in life. To me, they are one in the same. If you want to know more about me...checkout my "myspace"
My hobbies NASCAR! NASCAR! NASCAR!!
I am a little hooked on the sport. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't. There are some that say I love the sport too much, but they aren't NASCAR fans, so that shouldn't count? (should it?)
I enjoy spending quality time with my family & friends. That is my #1 priority.
I also enjoy chatting online with my friends, playing online at pogo.com, reading, crocheting (cause it gets cold here in the desert believe it or not), and writing my own stories which I have been doing since I was 12. Most of them now centering around NASCAR. Every year there is something exciting to write about.
Someday I would love to get my stories published, but right now, it's a hobby.
I also enjoy photography, which some of my pictures can be seen on my myspace and my chapter website. I am going to start posting some pictures here when I get the time. I like to let my pictures tell the story as opposed to writing something about an event or a place I have been.
Because of NASCAR I have taken well over 5000 pictures related to the sport. I didn't know that in one weekend I could get over 1500 pictures. I am quite grateful to FUJI for making an awesome digital camera (was that a sponsor plug?).
Another hobby I have no time for is--scrapbooking.
It started in 1996 when most of our older Las Vegas hotels were being imploded and I wanted to remember the Las Vegas I moved to in 1985. That can be one expensive hobby I have found (not to mention time consuming), which is why I am still "collecting" items and putting them in ziploc bags for now, lol
I love to cook. Italian, Mexican, Chinese, American--I simply love cooking. I have served up my share of spaghetti dinners, 10 pound Lasganas, enchiladas, burritos, tacos, seafood dinners and some great BBQ chicken wings
The list is endless.
Perhaps that's why I am not in the kitchen so much, lol. I cook way more than I need to.
